8 ΛΕΠΤΑ ΜΑΚΡΥΑ

Ένα από τα πιο "γεμάτα" (εννοώντας μουσικά και συναισθηματικά) άλμπουμ της δεκαετίας του '90, είναι το διπλό New River Head (1991) των Bevis Frond, δηλαδη του μουσικού (νεο)ψυχεδελικου οχήματος του σπουδαίου κιθαρίστα Nick Saloman. Με εξαιρετικές συνεργασίες (όπως αυτή με τον θρύλο Country Joe McDonald: "EAT FLOWERS & KISS BABIES" - τι τίτλος!) και με συμμετοχές σε έργα των Current 93, Outskirts Of Infinity, Paul Roland κλπ κλπ, ο 56χρονος πια Bevis είναι ένας από τους πλέον παραγωγικούς καλλιτέχνες, σχετικά άγνωστος στο ευρύ κοινό, αλλά με φανατικούς φίλους.

Το "Stain on the Sun" - που εδώ ακούμε σε ζωντανή εκτέλεση του 2004 - είναι ένα από τα κορυφαία τραγούδια του άλμπουμ που προαναφέρθηκε.

Μερικά τραγούδια του/ων Bevis έχουν συμμετάσχει σαν σάουντρακ σε αρκετά επεισόδια της ζωής μου. Δυσκολεύομαι ιδιαίτερα τόσο να τα αναφέρω όσο και να περιγράψω τις αναμνήσεις που μου ξυπνάνε. Ίσως από την άλλη, οι εργασίες που έχω αυτό το διάστημα να συρρικνώνουν σημαντικά τη δυνατότητα να εξωτερικεύσω αυτά που αισθάνομαι, ακόμη και αν το όχημα λέγεται Bevis Frond. Ίσως.. Αλλά κι από την άλλη, ποιος νοιάζεται;

--..Τους στίχους του τραγουδιού αρχικά δεν μπόρεσα να τους βρω (ούτε στο βινύλιο, που πραγματικά χάρηκε που με ξαναείδε - κι εγώ).. αλλά νάναι καλά οι Kαλοί φίλοι
